Glee

GLEE- A new american tv series! I was skeptical when I saw the description- musical comedy of a high school show choir, also known as a glee club, set within the fictional McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. Hmmm... Is it going to be another High School Musical?
Nah... It's way better than HSM with more mature theme and more real- you don't have people bursting into songs in the middle of the street or things like that. Just the first episode, I'm already wowed by the music and craving for more. There's the usual sterotypical characters and a few neurotic characters like Will's wife, Terri and the fired gay school choir teacher which may not be likeable but make the show more interesting. The only issue I have with the casting is Cory as Finn who's 27 and acting as a student but Matthew as Will who's 30 acting as the teacher, they look more like brothers then teacher-student.
From the first episode, it seemed that the story would be about a group of underdogs or "sub-basement" fighting all odds and achieving something but I'm hoping that there would be more to that to give this series more depth.
This is a definitly must-watch for musical fans and a good cheerful show in the midst of the gloomy global situation.

Improv Everywhere

While surfing on youtube, I came across this group of people called Improv Everywhere which aims to cause scenes of chaos and joy in public places. If you are familiar with mob flash or the chicken advertisment about M1, it is similar to what they are doing. Some of the mission were interesting like the frozen grand central some are amusing like the No Shirts (111 Shirtless Men in Abercombie and Fitch). Some mission last for a few minutes, some the whole day. Some also have a close brush with the law but all is done in a good nature manner.
The spotlight should goes to the passer-bys. Seeing and hearing their honest reaction is amusing and interesting. Check out more videos on http://www.youtube.com/user/ImprovEverywhere or http://improveverywhere.com/.
Although this is a very simple mission, it is one of my favourites. Listen closely to the ending. =)
